Our names are Sue and Louise and we would just like to tell you a bit about the idea behind Paws Around Berkshire and why we need your help to make it successful.
We have both lived in Berkshire for over 30 years and during that time have owned 6 cats and five dogs between us, so far. Although we are constantly swapping information about dog and cat related subjects with each other and with our friends, we are sure there must be a whole lot going on out there we don’t know about. That is why the idea for this site occurred to us.
With your help, our aim is to share news, views and information about all things dog and cat related in and around Berkshire, from great places to walk our dogs, charity events, animal friendly hotels, businesses and services worth recommending – and, maybe also those that are not – great trainers, the best boarding kennels/catteries, brilliant vets and so on.
Here are just a few other ideas we have in mind:
- A regular feature in which anyone in Berkshire running a dog and/or cat related business can let the rest of us know what they have to offer.
- An expert advice column – assuming we can find some willing experts out there to write some articles and/or answer our questions.
- A What’s On diary to make sure no one misses anything so, if you are running a charity, rescue centre or similar and want to let the Berkshire dog and cat community know what events your are holding or what help you need, this will be the place to do it.
We are also planning some competitions and regular articles on every topic we can think of, from feeding cost comparisons to grooming tips and health warnings, plus anything else we can come up with to help us all keep our beloved pets safe.
